Xbox One Scorpio Officially Announced
After all the leaks and rumors, the Xbox One Scorpio was officially announced by Microsoft, as part of its presentation at E3 2016.
Even though this is still a codename (Project Scorpio), the new console will have a processing power of 6 teraFLOPS, an 8-core processor and over 320 Gb/s memory bandwidth.
According to Phil Spencer, the new console will offer “real 4K high-definition gaming and VR”.
In the presentation that followed, several keywords were mentioned, such as “60 fps” and “fully uncompressed pixels”, while all the accessories and games that will be released for the Xbox One Scorpio will be compatible with both the first Xbox One, as well as the new Xbox One S.
The Xbox One Scorpio will be released during the holiday season next year, but its price has not been revealed yet.
