The LiNX Resound is the result of a partnership between the Danish GN Resound hearing aids manufacturer and Apple. This revolutionary device constitutes a step forward in terms of practicality, connectivity and adjustability, considerably simplifying the life of people who rely on hearing aids in their day-to-day lives.

Another aspect that makes the LiNX device special stems from it being the very first one in its category to receive Apple certification (MFi). Since it was designed especially for the iOS, the requirement to have an additional intermediary that would connect it to Apple devices has been rendered obsolete.

LiNX and the iOS app behind it

For starters, the application that was released simultaneously with the hearing aids enables the wearer to alter the settings of the device directly from the iPhone or iPad. The settings include volume, equalizer and presets, which allow us to adapt the LiNX to our current environment’s specifications and acoustics.

Geofencing and automatic preset adjustments

What’s even more impressive is that, thanks to the geofencing capabilities of the app, the location of the user can be employed to automatically adjust the profile of the LiNX. For instance, it will be able to determine if you’re currently on your jogging route or at your favorite pub and switch it’s volume and preset accordingly. In other words, user intervention can even be eliminated from the equation, because the GPS geofencing can be set to take over as long as you have a working network connection.

The 2.4 Ghz protocol

Another feature that revolutionizes the world of hearing aids consists of the unique 2.4 Gigahertz protocol utilized by the device. The CPU of the LiNX was created especially to support it and, according to GN representatives, it’s substantially more adept in terms of conserving power by shutting down whenever it’s not needed.

We can safely assume that the LiNX is the precursor of the next generation of hearing aids and we’re anxiously awaiting for the Android version to benefit more smartphone users.
