The New Xbox One S Confirmed
Microsoft announced on Monday at the E3 2016 Xbox Media Briefing the Xbox One S and presented us its main features.
It seems that Microsoft did not want to waste time, and begun with the official presentation (and confirmation of the leak that had surfaced yesterday at the popular forum NeoGAF) of the new Xbox One S. Its price will be $299, and it will have a 2TB internal storage, a built-in power supply, and the new xbox One Gamepad. The latter has a special texture for a better grip, Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth sensors, as well as longer range.
However, the renewed and smaller console does not have the necessary port for connecting Kinect 2.0, which confirms once again the fact that the sensor is “dead” for the company.
On the other hand, for those who want for some reason to link Kinect, there is a way. According to Microsoft’s website, the user can obtain a USB 3.0 converter for free, if he already owns Kinect and Xbox One, after registering the two devices and the Xbox One S on Microsoft’s aforementioned page first. I guess we can safely say now, RIP Kinect…
