Samsung Galaxy Note Edge With Curved Side Screen To Get Limited Release & High Pricing
The stunning Samsung Galaxy Note Edge smart phone is scheduled for limited release in select markets. The phone is a slightly smaller 5.6-inch curved screen with a Super AMOLED display that curves over the right side with a separate display down the side of the device.
The limited release was originally thought to be more of a future concept phone released only in Samsung's home market of Korea. However, the company has released the interest that the Galaxy Note Edge has already been generating despite the expected high price of entry and is going with a somewhat broader release strategy.
The Galaxy Note Edge is the first smart phone to offer a curved display with its Edge Screen which acts as a multi-task slidebar which can be interchanged with several different screens that show news, weather, Twitter updates and more. It can also display alerts to users who lay their phone down on a bedside table and who can still see important notifications without needing to pick up the phone to check messages. It also packs a punch with a 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM memory and the choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will eventually be sold in 140 countries around the globe and available through several hundred mobile carriers but the more exclusive Galaxy Note Edge will be initially in far fewer markets.
The U.S. telecommunications regulator, the FCC, has just approved the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge for sale in American markets. The model available in the U.S. markets will have support for LTE brands 2 and 4 to cover the AT&T cellular network and bands 5 and 12 to support US Cellular and other cellular networks as well.
Given that the Galaxy Note Edge was first debuted in the German trade show it makes sense that the Galaxy Note Edge will be made available in Germany and the U.K. There is no word yet or further availability across Europe.
Japan is also not going to miss out with NTT DoCoMo getting a model for release next month. Initially only sold in white, the Galaxy Note Edge is available in two colors only.
