Good news for the fans of Gotham City and Caped Crusader because Batman is coming back this year. We have confirmation from Warner Bros. that it would publish Batman: Arkham Knight last chapter of the stellar videogame series for PC, PlayStation for and Xbox One in 2014.

The announcement was released last Tuesday, and came accompanied by a trailer revealing several of the notorious villains starring in the game alongside Batman. The evil forces will be represented by Two-Face, Penguin, Scarecrow and Harley Quinn. It’s a shame we won’t be able to see some of the most famous villains from the last two movies, Harvey Dent, Joker and Bane.

Warner Bros. have only revealed scarce details on Arkham Knight, but what we do know by now is that the game will feature a drivable Batmobile for the first time in the history of Batman video games.

The Rocksteady Studios is developing the game, the same team that developed Batman: Arkham Asylum and its sequel Batman: Arkham City.

It goes without saying that the Batman franchise has become a major success for Warner Bros. Interactive since the game’s launch in 2009. Sefton Hill, Rocksteady Studios game director says they are working on the final chapter of the Batman Arkham trilogy. As you know, Warner Bros. launched the prequel Batman: Arkham Origins last year.

“We are excited to be developing the game for next-gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring to life the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning, such as the Batmobile and how it augments Batman’s abilities, to the fully detailed and realized Gotham City,” said Sefton Hill in the release statement.
