Game Review: Save the school from bullies in Bambosher
Bambosher is a fun little game with a unique art style and addictive gameplay. It is developed by Saurus Production, and it is their first title released. They started of very powerfully and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us in the future. But let’s jump fast on the main course and see what Bambosher has to offer.
Plot
The player controls a school boy named Winston who will do everything to save his peers and his school, Stalwart Elementary, from the bullies Sally, Bruno and Maxo who have taken over it. Now, it is up to you to help our hero, Winston, come to the rescue and stand up to the bullies. Are you ready for the fight?
Gameplay
Bambosher is a 2D endless runner in a chalkboard setting that takes place in a school. You take on the role of Winston and you need to make sure he avoids obstacles, eliminates them if possible and of course take care of the bullies that get in your way. You can jump and shoot spitballs against your enemies but jumping on them will also do the trick. Stumbling upon an obstacle means your life is reduced and the same happens if the bullies manage to land a hit on you. To avoid being hit you can either jump or slide. The controls work perfectly and smoothly so you won’t find it hard to perform any action necessary. It still is hard though to avoid everything on time because as you progress the difficulty is increased as well.
Rescuing classmates is also very important. These kids are inside lockers or bushes in the yard that you have to kick down in order to release them. Every rescue rewards you with coins and you can also collect them in various places while playing.
Coins can be used to upgrade your powers (e.g. spitball) and health and to use power ups as well. You can also unlock costumes to make the game more interesting. It is a very fun and relaxing endless runner that will keep you good company and impress you with its style.
In-app Purchases
As mentioned earlier, coins buy you upgrades and costumes. If you are in lack of enough coins, you can purchase them via the game’s store and choose from the coin bundles that are available.
Graphics & Sounds
Appearance-wise, Bambosher is very unique. I loved the chalkboard setting and the cartoony designs. The way obstacles are erased when you eliminate them was also very clever. The BG music is also very uplifting and fitting to the game.
Conclusion
All in all, Bamboshel is an endless runner that doesn’t require much to be enjoyed to the fullest. It is simple, straightforward and its style adorable. It is definitely something I would suggest to anyone who is looking for something to kill their time with and have fun. Let us know your thoughts and impressions in the comments below.
