Flappy Birds is a phenomenon, but then the Asian creator withdraw the game from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store back in February. The creator, Dong Nguyen, became overwhelmed with the media attention and withdraw from the public eye along with his game suggesting it was too addictive for players. The game even has its own Wikipedia page.

Later he replied to an inquiry about whether the game would ever return to the app store by replying that it would but not in its present form.

Nguyen's .Gears game studio just released Flappy Birds Family exclusively in the Amazon Appstore for Android. The game only runs on the Amazon Fire TV, not even the Fire Phone as well. The Flappy family treat is not available in the Google Play Store, nor in the Apple App Store. Don't. Even. Look.

As happy as some gamers are to see the Flappy Birds title return in a newly improved version, others are showering the product page on Amazon with 1 star negative reviews because the game is not available on any other platform or mobile device. Not yet, anyway.

What's New With Flappy Birds Family?

There is a Person to Person mode which pits two players up against each other. A first for the franchise title. The obstacles are more plentiful and tougher to deal with. Many sleepless nights are expected, as well as friends get-togethers where they battle it out.

Fire TV Interface

Flappy Birds Family game can be played using the Amazon Fire TV remote control. There is a video game controller which works with Flappy. Buttons are pushed instead of a screen being tapped, so the gaming interface is different than gamers familiar with Flappy Birds would normally expect. People new to the Flappy Bird phenom won't have trouble learning how to play though.

When the game will make its way to other app stores like the Google Play Store and Apple Store remains to be seen.
