Coming Soon: The Z2 Smartphone Model From Sony Unleashed!
Sony’s Xperia family has received confirmation of another member, the highly anticipated Z2 model. The Z2 smartphone was launched alongside its larger brother, the Xperia Z2 tablet at this year’s edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The line of flagship handsets in the Z series signed by Sony has always been released publicly at major international shows; the first Z model came out in January 2013 at CES, whereas we got to see the Z1 at the IFA in September 2013. Without further ado, let’s find out what makes the Xperia Z2 shine the brightest of all stars in the Sony universe.
The tech specs of the Z2
It’s only normal for a flagship model, like the Z2 plans to become once Sony puts it up for sale in March 2014, to include the very best mobile technology available at this point. To be more precise, the Xperia Z2 will be powered by a powerful 4 core x 2.3 Gigahertz Snapdragon processor supported by the 3 Gigabytes of RAM. The accumulator feeding this – in the immortal words of Darth Vader - “technological terror” – is a 3.2k mAh battery. The Z2 also benefits from the 4G LTE standard.
What else the Z2 Xperia has to offer?
Don’t act like you’re not impressed so far. We’d actually be willing to spend our hard earned cash just for the aforementioned features. Okay, okay, the demanding customer in you is always hungry for more, we know. Well, what if we told you that the Z2 incorporates the very first noise cancelation technology for smartphones? Or that the 20.7 megapixel camera is able to shoot 30 fps 4k pixel videos?
At twice the number of pixels for HD recordings, featuring the proprietary SteadyShot stabilizing tech and resolutions of up to 3,840 by 2,160, combined with the digital noise cancelation features, the Z2 is every video bootlegger’s dream! Not to mention that it’s waterproofing capabilities will help immensely when the manager of the cinema where you’re recording the latest copy of Captain America: Winter Soldier pours a large soda on your state of the art video piracy tool!
Display and design?
The fully 1080p Triluminous screen is another great feature that the developers at Sony are very proud of, as the 5.2 display promises the most accurate tone rendering currently available. But while the diagonal of the display grew an extra .2 inches from its predecessors, the thickness was cut down .3 mm (currently 8.2 mm). And don’t think for a second that the resilience to dust and water exposure (rated according to the IP55 standard and respectively the IP58 standard) is not there.
How much and when can you buy it?
While Sony has yet to uncover details regarding the pricing of their newest flagship smartphone, it is safe to assume that it won’t come cheap. After all, the technology implemented in the Z2 model is cutting edge, so you should expect to spend quite a bit on your acquisition. As far as the “when” is concerned, March 2014 has been announced as the official release date for the Xperia Z2.
