1 large 6 Online Services To Help You Learn New Languages

Here are 6 online services for learning foreign languages, along with their learning methods, since each one has its own “philosophy”.

Most of them do not include a teacher, and some are paid services, but all of them make use of the internet and its tools in order to provide you the best help in your effort to expand your linguistic horizons. They can get you to a very good level, from which you can even get a language certificate afterwards.

So, here they are:

1. Babbel

This is one of the most known applications, for good reasons. It is available for all platforms and is one of the most complete learning methods, giving emphasis on grammar and reading/writing. Your microphone will work overtime, since the program wants to listen to you all the time.

2. Memrise

Memrise uses an extremely interesting approach, as it “recruits” mnemonic tricks (cards with images and sounds) for faster learning. Its method favors those who want to learn languages with completely foreign alphabets, such as Chinese. A big part of the content and courses is created by the community of “students” themselves.

3. Verbling

If the “no teacher” approach isn’t for you, in Verbling you will find real teachers (paid) that will teach you your desired language online. In addition, you have free access to recorded lessons, as if you were in the classroom, and you can connect with other students and practice together.

4. Rosetta Stone

This one is a rather expensive method and requires studying for a long time, but eventually you will learn the desired language correctly and completely. If you have persistence and self-discipline, this is the most comprehensive method of all.

5. Fluent in 3 Months

For those who want to learn a language quickly and without many rules, in this site they will find tips and tricks with which they can obtain basic communication skills for any part of the world, within three months. This is how football or basketball players learn a new language when they get transferred to another country.

6. Rocket Languages

This is a paid service, which is the online evolution of CD and book learning, except that you listen from your speakers and read on the screen. One of this service’s best features is that it has a voice recognition feature called Rocket Record, which can analyze your pronunciation and suggest ways to improve it.

I liked Duolingo https://www.duolingo.com/ as well. Comes with phone apps too.
