Samsung announced a new SSD hard drive with a capacity of 512GB, which will be about the same size of a postage stamp, thereby increasing storage capacity in laptops, Small Factor PCs and tablets.
According to the Korean company, the disc will be the first mass-produced 512GB SSD which will be equipped with non-volatile memory express (NVMe) technology that allows the controller to manage much faster read and write data at speeds that will reach 1500MB/s in reading and 900MB/s in writing.
The disc will become available from June by Samsung, in capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
