Original Resident Evil Remastered Coming to PC early 2015
Fans of the popular Resident Evil series will be pleased to know that the original RE game is coming to PC, remastered in HD. No specific release date has been announced, but it is set for release sometime in 2015. The Resident Evil HD Remaster is said to have upgraded in-game textures, higher resolution, and enhanced sound to support 5.1 surround sound. Like most remastered titles now days, players will be able to seamlessly switch between the original graphics, and the remastered version.
To clarify, this is not a remaster of the very first Resident Evil, but rather the re-make of that game which was released on Gamecube in 2002. The GC version did have a few differences from the original, such as new graphics (not just upgraded versions), mechanics, and minor changes to the story. In the new version, there will be some alternate controls at various points of the game, but like the graphics -- you'll be able to toggle between old and new as you wish. The release is not limited to just PC either, Resident Evil HD will also be available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles.
The response from players seems mixed at this point, but most are in favor. One of the biggest criticisms is that this is a remaster of a remake, and some feel it's just like beating a dead horse. Regardless, it's coming next year, and will most likely be one of the more successful classic games to be remastered.
