Microsoft Is Waving Goodbye To Internet Explorer

A couple of days ago, Microsoft confirmed what we all speculated for a long time: that the new browser in Windows 10 won't be using the Internet Explorer brand name. In its place, a new, faster and lighter browser will be intoduced, which for the time being goes by the name Project Spartan. The official name of the new browser has yet to be confirmed.

For now, Windows 10 can still use Internet Explorer but this will slowly start to change and users will be moved to the new browser. According to The Verge, Microsoft's marketing chief Chris Capossela revealed in Microsoft Convergence that:

We’re now researching what the new brand, or the new name, for our browser should be in Windows 10" and added that "We’ll continue to have Internet Explorer, but we’ll also have a new browser called Project Spartan, which is codenamed Project Spartan. We have to name the thing.

With the popularity of IE falling more and more, and the negativity surrounding its performance, Microsoft wanted to leave it in the past and start something new that will bring back users and restore their trust to Microsoft's browser. It is possible that the new browser will have a name with the "Microsoft" brand name in front. 

We still don't have a release date for either Windows 10 or the new browser, but it is highly likely that they will both be released side by side. Needless to say, all these news are making the anticipation unbearable and it is obvious that Microsoft has set the barrier really high. Let's wait and see if the anticipation will be worth it. For now, it seems that Microsoft is working really hard on delivering a worthy new browser that will make us forget IE and its faults. But then again, how can we forget it when we love to hate it so much?
