Guardian VR: The Guardian's App for Solitary Confinement
How does it feel to live for 23 hours per day in a 6 × 9 feet prison cell? A new project created by The Guardian will make you feel the experience of solitary confinement in American prisons through a Virtual Reality app. This is an android app that invites you to wear headphones and a VR headset, and discover how a prisoner feels in a 6 × 9 feet cell, showing you initially how isolation can cause psychological traumas. Would you bear living like that?
The application, namely Guardian VR, or alternatively 6x9, puts you in such a cell and also lets you hear stories about what one experiences when held under these conditions. The graphics are very realistic, even if you do not have virtual reality glasses available. However, the experience is amazing if you do have a VR headset!
