Google Glass is Now Available to Anyone in the US
Google announced on Google+ that the Glass Explorer Program is now open for anybody in the US. While still in Beta and still priced at $1,500 USD, you can get it at https://glass.google.com/getglass/ if you live in the US.
The official statement said:
"We’re still in the Explorer Program while we continue to improve our hardware and software, but starting today anyone in the US can buy the Glass Explorer Edition, as long as we have it on hand"
Recently, Google made Glass available for 24 Hours on April 15th, again for US residents only, and also partnered with Luxottica (maker of Oakley, Ray-Ban) for obvious stylish reasons.
While we wait for Glass to be released in Europe as well in the future, we ponder on the recent “Galaxy Glass” patent filed by Samsung and whether or not a competing product will lower the prices in this niche.
