LanSend a fost dezvoltat pentru a trimite mesaje către computerele la distanță, înlocuind astfel mesajul "net send" comanda și msg.exe. LanSend este ușor de utilizat și nu necesită acces la Internet, server dedicat sau software suplimentar pe aparatul destinatarului.
