ScriptFTP este un client FTP / FTPS conceput pentru a automatiza transferurile de fișiere. Urmează comenzile scrise pe un fișier text (numit și fișier script) și efectuează automat transferurile. Scrierea fișierului script este foarte ușor și, odată scris, îi puteți rula cu un singur clic. Programarea Script este de asemenea acceptată.

ScriptFTP este un client FTP bazat pe script. Funcționează ca și clienții tradiționali FTP, dar nu necesită interacțiune cu utilizatorul în timp ce rulează, ci funcționează automat utilizând un fișier text care conține acțiunile pe care ScriptFTP trebuie să le execute. Să considerăm un script simplu:

OPENHOST ( 'ftp.myhost.com', 'myuser', 'mypassword')
Getfile ( 'myfile.zip')
CLOSEHOST
